I love this journal! The prompts help me to reflect on my day and I love the additional thoughts page to write any feelings down or intentions for the next day…. and it’s absolutely beautifully made!
I have tried a couple daily journals lately. This one exceeds all others. Prompts are just what I need to help me reflect, give thanks and greet each day with an open loving heart.
This journal is very user-friendly. I find that if I answer the questions first then I am ready to write a little bit about my day. I have always wanted to journal more frequently. Now I do.
Funny, I was just reflecting on the structure of this journal this morning. So the real pros: the paper is lovely, really lovely, to write on; not an oz. of plastic in the journal; once you open it, on the left side are prompts in a very quiet, unobtrusive ink and font, to help you get specific as you reflect on your day; on the right, is a lined page to fill with your own thought. Would I buy this again? Absolutely - it is beautiful and as my daughter is a new mother, I will get her one. Here is the one ‘could be - maybe - not sure' con: I don’t know that I like filling out the prompts every day. No question they are useful some days, but when they aren’t, I waste half of that days paper. I’m wondering if they could be printed every 4 or 6 pages instead? That way, if I want to address prompts on a given day, I don’t have to flip all over to read them - I just go back a few pages, read the prompt and address them on lined journal pages. This is not, I repeat, a deal breaker for me - the journal is no-plastic, quality paper and “quiet” interior - all of which are important to me and are reasons I look forward to writing in it each day. So, that’s my humble opinion.
I have really appreciated using this journal, particularly at the end of the day as I wind down. From the prompts I am able to think about what I wanted to remember from the day, acknowledge how I felt at times, and especially to write out the things I was grateful for. I am currently in the midst of a grief journey having lost my best friend of 47 years, and this journal has been like a friend, walking this journey with me. I highly recommend this Daily Pause Journal.
