Affirmations and Tools for a Mindful and Productive Fall

Notebook Tools for Productive Fall

While we truly love summertime and the slower, more relaxed pace it brings with it, the rejuvenated energy of fall is one of our favorite times of year.

After a summer of fun and a more loose schedule, it always feels good to get back to a bit of structure.

Fall is the perfect time to refresh your routines and return to a sense of mindfulness and intentionality that may get put on the back-burner throughout the summer days.

Today, we’re bringing you 5 quotes for mindfulness, 5 journaling prompts for living an intentional life, and 5 of our favorite tools to keep you organized and productive this fall.

Read on for all the fall inspiration - here’s to setting both our minds + routines up for success!

5 QUOTES TO INSPIRE MORE MINDFULNESS

Sometimes we just need the wisdom and brilliance of others to bring us out of our funk and get us out of our heads. Below are a few quotes I love that I find helpful to turn to again and again.

I suggest writing one of the below (or your own personal favorite!) down on a piece of paper that you keep close by each day, or before you even start jotting down all of the to-do’s for the day, write down a quote across the top of your notepad. This helps you get centered for the day ahead and is a simple reminder throughout the day to stay present and intentional.

  • Wherever you are, be all there. - Jim Elliot

  • Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. - Anne Lamott

  • If it’s out of your hands, it deserves freedom from your mind too. - Ivan Nuru

  • Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now without wishing it were different; enjoying the pleasant without holding on when it changes (which it will); being with the unpleasant without fearing it will always be this way (which it won’t). -James Baraz

  • I am remembering to breathe, right here in the chaos of things. - Morgan Harper Nichols

JOURNALING PROMPTS TO EASE INTO FALL

There’s nothing like a good journaling session as a new season begins. A cup of hot coffee or warm tea, favorite pen in hand, cracking open your favorite journal to pour out your heart and get clear for the days ahead… Ahh, don’t you feel calmer already?!

We know there’s two types of journalers out there - the brain dump types and the prompt lovers. We created our best-selling Daily Pause Journal for this very reason.

Our Daily Pause Journal has space for intentional reflection with short, thoughtful prompts. Alongside the daily prompts, each page has a space dedicated for your additional thoughts/brain dumping. So whichever type of journaler you are, this best-selling daily journal has you covered.

If you’re on the hunt for some new journaling prompts for fall, look no further!

5 TOOLS TO HELP YOU STAY ON TRACK
  1. Notion

We LOVE Notion for daily to-do’s for both personal and business life. If you love your pen + paper system but find yourself needing an online platform to keep things in order too, Notion is for you. Organize your daily tasks OR even plan out your yearly goals to stay on track with those big intentions. Plus, you can make it pretty (obviously an important part of any tool! ;) ) and customize it to you hearts content!

  1. Daily Overview Planner

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it forever, we couldn’t live without our Daily Overview Planner. There’s just something special about putting pen to paper that you can’t achieve with digital tools.

Daily Overview Planner - Ramona & Ruth

Utilize your Daily Overview Planner to actually, finally create space in your life for what matters without neglecting your to-do’s. Don’t let your life be all work and no rest or play!

If you don’t take the time to be intentional & determine what’s most important to you in your daily life, then your to-do lists, work, and others will determine it for you.

Do you really want Gmail to be the determining factor in your wellbeing and fulfillment? We think not!

Sit down at the start of your day (or at the end of your current day to prep for the next) and map out what’s most important - is it your fitness routine? A healthy, quiet lunch break? Finally completing the big project that’s weighing on you? Or connecting with a friend or family member? Determine what is most important to you, and arrange your day around that - not the other way around!

  1. Click-UP

Okay, now you may be thinking “wait a minute - why do I need both Notion and ClickUp?” - but don’t write me off just yet! I love and use both to keep myself on track each day.

I love to use Clickup to plan large, daunting projects. For example, when I am planning my new product releases, I enter every little task into Clickup and make sure to assign a due date to each. Every Sunday, I look at my upcoming Clickup list for the week and add that week’s list into Notion. That way, I’m not overwhelmed by everything that’s in Clickup, and am instead only focused on what needs to be accomplished that week.

  1. Headspace

The perfect tool to pair with your Daily Pause Journal for a nighttime routine that far outweighs endless scrolling!

If you still haven’t tried incorporating daily meditations into your routines - this is your sign. We promise it’s the type of thing that is hard to make time for, yet one of the absolute easiest ways to create a more mindful existence and a more peaceful you.

We love the phone apps Headspace and Calm. Both allow you to start small (even 5 minutes a day can be life-changing!) so you can add it to your morning and nighttime routines easy peasy. Try adding in a quick 5 or 10 minute meditation + journal session with your Daily Pause Journal.

    1. Walking

Yes, we’re counting walking as a tool! Start your day off with a quick 10 minute walk to ground and center yourself. The only catch? No music or podcast listening! You’ll be amazed at what a short, quiet walk will do for your heart and mind.

We hope these thoughts, affirmations, and practical everyday tools help you approach this new fall season with an abundance of daily mindfulness and intention at the center of your days, routines, and, ultimately, life.

I can’t think of a better season to cultivate your routines, hearts, and minds than the season that brings us fresh clear air, the beautiful changing colors of leaves, and even PSL. ;)
